Literacies for Life Priorities
The framework highlights key skills and personal attributes that shape lifelong learning, career growth, and personal development. Each area plays an essential role in building confidence, adaptability, and purpose. Over time, these literacies will evolve throughout my study experience and reflect and strengthen my ability to communicate effectively, make sound decisions, and navigate professional challenges with integrity and creativity.
Through the Literacies for Life framework, I’ve recognised the importance of developing greater patience and problem-solving skills, particularly when working with more complex software. While I naturally thrive in independent environments, I’ve also identified the need to strengthen my ability to manage emotions and behaviours in collaborative settings. As I move into more team-based projects, building these interpersonal and emotional literacy skills will be essential to enhance both my personal growth and professional effectiveness. The key focus is 2025, I will now go back and complete 2023 and 2024.

STRENGTHS
In which two literacy areas are you most confident, that include skills/attributes that you rate as highly important for your career?
What specific skills or attributes do you believe you have that contribute to that confidence?
My Response:
- Problem solving and decision making:
- Understanding both my career strengths and challenges:
I bring an Advanced Diploma in Digital Graphic Design and a Diploma in Animation, Gaming, and Visual Effects, along with nine years of experience as a freelance digital designer, including Project Management, which are high advantages to decision making and problem solving.
As I push my skills to the next level, I recognise that mastering complex software in motion graphics and visual effects will require dedication, very high problem solving and further study but I’m fully committed to developing the advanced technical and creative capabilities needed to deliver high-quality results. And have join the software communities as I will hit lots of barriers along the way, I’m sure.
WEAKNESSES
In which two literacy areas are you least confident, that include skills/attributes that you rate as highly important for your career?
What do you think are your specific weaknesses in those literacy areas?
- Understanding and Managing the Emotions of Self and Others:
- Upholding ethically, culturally and socially responsible behaviour:
I have already experienced firsthand how hard some of the software is to learn and requires high level of problem solving and patients. Especially at exam time and there are deadlines to meet and the designing is not working out this can bring out very high levels of emotion. I am not fully aware of culturally responsibility which will need further investigation on my part. However, I generally keep to myself and support individuals where I can.
OPPORTUNITIES
What opportunities do your strengths present to do well in your studies and/or position yourself well to start your career?
What opportunities do your weaknesses present and how will you access those opportunities?
Understanding both my career strengths and challenges:
I bring an Advanced Diploma in Digital Graphic Design and a Diploma in Animation, Gaming, and Visual Effects, along with nine years of experience as a freelance digital designer, including Project Management, which will give me a high advantage in project preparation planning, research more challenging project opportunities and the opportunity to prepare and design content in preparation for the two areas I will to develop in – motion graphics and VFX.
My weaknesses are in advance software that develops motion graphics and VFX. A few of the required skills are in problem solving, patience which are not my strong suites but will give me the opportunity to advance my studies in these areas and to open new doors in community support online and networking with likeminded individuals studying the same subjects.
THREATS
What opportunities do your strengths present to do well in your studies and/or position yourself well to start your career?
What opportunities do your weaknesses present and how will you access those opportunities?
Again, major threats are:
My weaknesses are in advance software that develops motion graphics and VFX. A few of the required skills are in problem solving, patience which are not my strong suites.
Reach out to likeminded individuals working on the same software and connect with online community support groups where questions and support can be given. This includes UC support and sending emails to problem solve. Take regular breaks when things become highly frustrating and to reach out to the lecturer and ask for help.
I also communicate through DISCORD on a daily basis and observe and read other peoples projects and barriers wins and loses…
